22 | AMGEN TOUR OF CALIFORNIA | OFFICIAL 2019 PROGRAM 2019 MEET OUR AMGEN TOUR OF JENS VOIGT F ormer pro cyclist and fan-favorite Jens Voigt had a storied career which spanned over 17 years at the sport’s highest level. His lifetime achievements in- clude two Tour de France stage wins, 15 completions of the Tour de France, and a brief stint as the UCI World Hour Record holder in 2014. Now in his fourth year as an ambassador of the Amgen Tour of Cal- ifornia, Voigt provides on-course commen- tary for the NBC television broadcast, en- gages with fans in the hospitality areas, and participates in fan rides on the course throughout the race week. While he’s traveling around the world, you can find Voigt at such events as L’Etape California by Le Tour de France, on virtual rides on Zwift, and of course at his Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin which takes place each fall.
