AMGEN TOUR OF CALIFORNIA | OFFICIAL 2019 PROGRAM | 23 2019 CALIFORNIA AMBASSADORS FREDDIE RODRIGUEZ F ast Freddie Rodriguez is a four-time USA Pro Road National Champion. Growing up in Los Angeles, he found his passion for bike racing after watch- ing Alexi Grewal win the 1984 Olympic road race. Rodriguez started his career in the United States junior development program and eventually rode his way into the European peloton, competing in seven editions of the Tour de France. His top results as a sprinter include second place in the Classic Milan-San Remo and a stage win at the Giro d’Italia. Rodriguez serves as an ambassador of Amgen Tour of California for a third year with a focus on youth activities, school visits, and promot- ing healthy living. PHOTO: GREG MIONSKE
